A few months ago, I received an email from Paris inviting me to take part in an exciting collaboration with the world renowned Jewelry house, Boucheron. To say I was ecstatic would be more than an understatement, in fact, I couldn’t and didn’t believe it at first! Among all the fashion bloggers around the globe, Boucheron Paris handpicked six of us from UK, HongKong, UAE, Japan and France to represent the company in this exciting endeavour. I’m not even from any of the countries listed above, so to be asked to take part in this was such a huge deal to me! Anyone who’s followed this blog from the start three years ago would know how much of an accidental blessing this blog has been, and the opportunities that have come with it are beyond what I could have ever imagined. I am so deeply thankful to all my readers for sticking with me and allowing me to get this far! Thank you thank you thank you!!! Anyhow, long story short, last week, after all things had been made final, I was booked on a plane to the nearest Boucheron in my end of the world: HongKong!
When I entered the store, I was greeted by an aura of exclusive luxury and welcomed by Claudia, who introduced me to the brand and the products in store. Boucheron is known for it’s amazing intricacy and perfection in creating fine jewelry. Most of their creations resemble animals, and they are most known for their talisman inspired pieces. Like the exotic animal, these serpent necklaces, bracelets and rings have a strong personality and take on a protective aura for the woman who wears them! Not only are these pieces extra luxurious and glamourous, their character is one of a kind as well!
Because I knew I was headed to the store right after my flight landed, I made sure to wear something chic yet comfortable, airplane-ride appropriate, yet “stylishly me.” I went for this classy embellished polo by WAGW so that I’d look polished without having to wear extra bling (which I knew would take the backseat anyway once I entered the store!) Then I easily matched it with leather shorts and printed stockings and topped it all off with a bright yellow coat to perk up my outfit and keep me warm.
Meet the legendary Frederic Boucheron, the founder of this amazing design house. In the 1800’s, he was the favorite jeweller of some of the most influential men and women of the time, including Russian Czar Nicolas II and his wife Alexandra Feodorovna, and the great american dynasties: the Vanderbilts, the Mackays and the Burns to name a few. He was also given one of the highest honors of the nation when he was named Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur and the entire French High Jewelry profession acclaimed him by giving him the title ” The Best Jeweller of France.” Wow, right?
This to die for serpent necklace was my absolute favorite among all the jaw-dropping pieces they had at the store. The design was impeccable. Each stone strategically placed to emulate the scales and characteristics of the serpent. What’s more? The fringe tail detaches so you can connect it to a simple chain necklace when you aren’t feeling too bold. Perfection!
Above are the Quatre rings, and the pieces that I chose to shoot for the brand the next day (more on that soon!!!) There is sooo much to know and love about these rings, but you will have to wait until tomorrow to find out what it is, why I chose them and what I came up with inspired by them!
I took three pieces with me to interpret and style into a photoshoot the very next day. I was soooo inspired (and thrilled) about the whole experience that I came up with a really awesome set of photos! Are you excited to see them??? Let me know what you think! More about my Boucheron adventure soon!
