Black and Gold

I never thought I’d be a fan of heel-less platforms. Sure I’ve worn it once before in a more subtle version, but these take it to a whole new level. I always thought they looked more like hooves than actual shoes, and I will keep that it isn’t the sexiest pair on earth- but damn are they edgy and chic. Another bonus? They are even comfier than some of my good soled wedges! I figure there’s no point in shying away from things you’re curious to try. (Even if it entails a quad of people staring at your feet in judgement!) In fashion, it’s best to keep your options wide and mind open. So before you nay-sayers beg to differ, challenge yourself to go beyond your limits and try welcome things that oppose your first intuition! With that, here’s my take on the heel-less platform:

I opted to take the safe route and go feminine. A classy gold tee and black stained silk skirt give the perfect easy silhouette of girly. It’s safe, playful and easy to match with the preppy mary jane.

Black and gold accessories to match my black and gold outfit. I’m trying to make this look as wearable as I can so it’s less intimidating to those who want to try it but aren’t sure how. The key is to dress up but safely so.

They look pretty awesome don’t they? An architectural wonder. The fact that they feel like pillows on my feet still blows me away!

Two simple pieces and two classy colors brought my outfit together in an attempt to (for lack of a better word) “girlify” my edgy soles.

What do you think about my (shoes and) look? :)

Gold and black is like red and blue color coordination! It’s one of the safest and trendy color palettes you can always have! I think a lot of people were looking at you since you didn’t have heels on your shoes but in my case, I’ll be like “Wow! Finally, someone’s brave enough to wear those one-of-a-kind pair of platforms!” :) You made it look easy and wearable, Miss Kryz! Great look! ;)

I love that you went on the girly route with your edgy pair of shoes :) Because I see a lot of fashionable people going edgy all out when they wear that kind of shoe and your take is quite refreshing. And I think the heelless shoes would be comfier because the support is nearer the bridge of your feet and whatnot. It’s awesome when shoe designing combines architecture and podiatry :D

I really love your sense of style, Kryz. You also make it evident that you don’t have to have outrageously expensive pieces of clothing in order to look elegant. I blog mostly about lifestyle in general and makeup but would like to publish more posts on fashion, but I just don’t have that much time to always be dressing up and putting makeup on for the photo shoots, plus I’m not so sure yet how to come up with really nice photos like what you have. May I ask you how often (how many times in a week, and how many hours at a time) you take these photos of yourself for your blog? Do you have someone to take your photos or do you use a tripod and set your cam on timer, or something like that? More power to you!
