Bloom in Peplum

If you can’t tell already, I’m a really girly kind of girl. I love clothes, I love make-up, I love all things sweet and fancy, and I love dressing up in charming romantic flowers. Today’s outfit proves just that. What could be more sugary than a pretty peplum top matched with candy colored accessories and gold glittery pumps? Here’s my take on how to make painfully feminine pieces so easily wearable!

First off, It’s the oldest trick in the book to pick out colors from a print you want to wear and use that hue to accessorize. What I usually like doing is picking the faintest hue of the bunch (sometimes another shade of that faint hue even) just so you don’t look too matchy-matchy. Here, I pulled out the yellow + pink outlines and brought them up a notch in a salmon color.

Look at these awesome vintage glasses I have on! Interesting story, they’re made in the 1980′s as prescription glasses but I guess people didn’t really like them that much. A few weeks ago, I got them ON SALE at Rudy Project’s bazaar in Cebu for a measly Php200 (approximately $4-5)!!! What a steal!!! They had tons of it on display, so those who followed me on twitter and instagram (@kryzzzie) were the first to know about them!

When going for a certain feel of a look, I like to add pieces that keep it interesting. A few sporty details in the form of my color-block satchel and OXYGEN PARIS watch (It’s a French brand, no, nothing to do with Oxygen Clothing Philippines) did just the trick. The perfect thing about this bag? The size and structure! I was so glad I didn’t have to fish for my keys/lipstick anymore! And this watch? I love how you can replace the straps and make it look like a totally different time piece! With the interchangeable straps, it’s so easy to mix and match the exact same watch with different outfits (talk about value for money). I also like that the way it locks and the number of holes it has, perfect for skinny wrists. I usually have a hard time finding watches that fit, but this one is so perfect!

Lastly, Tto keep my look from bordering on spring overkill, I toned down the brightness with emerald green crystal earrings which of matched the glamour brought about by my sparkly pumps. This pulled together my look into a more age-appropriate /work appropriate number.

What do you think about my look?
