Come Play 2013

2 weeks ago, I flew to Manila for a very special occasion- the Goody Come Play 2013 event! Lucky girls around the metro who were able to score invites to this get together were pampered in free services like hair styling, mani-pedi, instax photos, brush cleaning and lots and lots of sweets! They also got to hear me and my two other blogger besties give a talk on special topics: Beauty for me, DIY for Camille and Accessorizing with Laureen!

To be completely honest, I hate giving talks. I always talk too fast because I get self conscious and awkward. I don’t like it when people stare at me. My dad is a professional public speaker, and it’s so ironic that I can’t (and refuse to) give speeches and talks! Truth be told, I’m really shy, and while I hold up well in front of the camera, its a completely different ball game in person! I like the wall that computer screens and iPhones give, but when you take that all away, I feel sooo very vulnerable! I even find it weird when people take photos with me or get my autograph! Sooo weird! Well, the Goody team must have a hold on me because I couldn’t say no to them when they asked me to participate in this! My topic was all about beauty, and I gave the audience my personal thoughts about which hair and make up would suit your look for 5 different occasions: School, Date, Job Interview, Wedding and a Night out.ย

The event was held at the Mall Of Asia Activity Center, which meant a lot of people shopping around the mall also had the chance to hear us speak absolutely free! lol It also meant more wandering eyes to keep me self conscious! #TotallyNotWiredForThis

There were so many prizes given away that day, and I drew this pretty little lady’s name from the bowl and gave her a shocking treat too! Congratulations! This was definitely such a fun and successful event, and I’d like to offer my sincerest thanks and congratulations to the Goody team and all the sponsors for pulling it off so well! If you were there, you’d know what I mean, and if you weren’t #YouTotallyMissedOut!

This is what I wore to the event- a cute cropped top and some trousers matched with gentlemanly accessories! Again, I wore this to the airport and straight to the event, which meant, I had to keep it airport friendly too!

My favorite accessory worn that day would have to be my La Mer Collection watch. It totally complemented the soft hints of black leather that I kept running around my outfit. It’s the perfect androgynous accessory! Plus, because I don’t like stacking bracelets especially when travelling or on the go, the leather straps created the perfect illusion of an arm party, without the added hassle! I also really love how the face of the watch is such a no-nonsense classic that will blend with any outfit so seamlessly- definitely my style! Apparently, Martine Ilana (the exclusive designer of La Mer Collection watches) had the same sense of style in mind, because it all started when she couldn’t find a simple, stylish and feminine watch to wear! In the end, she decided to create her own inspired by her travels around the world! Each of these watches are hand assembled in the US! If you want one for yourself and you’re from the Philippines, you can order hereย orย send an email to info@lamer-collections.com, or an sms at 09176201795, 09175308942 or call their hotline (02) 5023473.
