HongKong Weekend

Spent a weekend with my sisters at HongKong for some quick R&R and some quality time bonding. It felt so nice to have no plans, no agenda, no work and basically have the luxury of time to waste. Diane, Jack and I kept ourselves busy with finding new places to eat and shop- that’s basically it! After a very busy and stressful few days, this trip was exactly what we needed to get away from it all.

Diane is all about healthy eating and keeping fit right now, so her first resto of choice was Mana. It’s a fast slow food restaurant that we took forever to find (simply because we insisted walking there!). When we finally arrived, we were greeted by a myriad of organic food that I couldn’t wait to try, plus a bunch of busy looking expats and yogis.

If you want to try something really healthy, check this place out. But if greens and beans aren’t your thing, you might find this place a little lacking in flavor. Oh, and they don’t offer much seating (or air-conditioning), save for some little stools and a small table by the door, so get your food to go!

Of course, after every meal, my sisters and I loooove (and have to have) coffee. We tried to head to a bunch of places but everything was full (or really far away!)- and then it started to rain! So we headed to the mall and luckily found a spot at Angelina in Lane Crawford for some quick cakes and cafés. It was pretty good but we had to wait in line for about 40 minutes (which was absolutely insane!) and I have to say, I wouldn’t do that again! As much as I love the ambiance of the place, I’d much rather have the coffee at 18 grams– cheaper and better!

For a full day out walking, I had my trusty Butterfly Twists with me (as per usual). It started to rain and I didn’t want to get my toes wet with my Birks, so in it went and out came the ballet flats. So convenient and easy! Plus, it totally matched the whole carefree tourist vibe I was going for, don’t you think?

btLook at these pretty designs from their new collection! These shoes and the rest of the AW14 Collection will be launched in October. Butterfly Twists is having an anniversary sale from Sept 1-30 at their branches in Greenbelt 2, Alabang Town center, Lucky Chinatown Mall, SM North EDSA Annex, Trinoma, SM Megamall, and The Podium!

Stay tuned for more!
