Over and Under

There are clouds on my dress!!! I thought it would be perfectly apt to find a high rise and take photos of it’s prettiness with real clouds behind me, but alas, I am not equipped with the right photography know-how to do that, and I ended up with a plain white blown out background, or an extremely dark me, and hints of the skies behind me. Boo. Anyhow, I still love how these photos came out, and I have my boyfriend, Mike to thank for taking them once again! I know he hates taking my photos (as evidenced by his grumpy walk, and half open eyes when I ask him to do it lol) but he does it anyway, so three cheers for him!

Since my dress was very play-school, I made sure to toughen it up with my styling by choosing glamorous and edgy black and gold. I stole this pretty fedora from Patricia (who left it in the car) and it totally completed my look! Also, I’m particularly fond of the arm party situation going on there. Just threw on a bunch of random black gold and white pieces, and look! I love buying those bracelets that come in a set, because you can split them up and style them in a number of new ways!

Another thing worth noting about this look (and one of the most important foundations of dressing) is wearing the right underwear under the right clothes. No body wants to see VPLs (visible panty lines), tacky bra straps, overflowing cups and other lingerie mishaps! Instead of looking dashing in your chicest outfits, the only things people will notice are your lingerie faux pas! On the other hand, if you wear the right underwear, your clothes will fit better, look better and make you feel better. Getting the right size of bras for example will make you feel fuller, more supported, and will hide unwanted bulge from tightness or unwanted crinkles from looseness! The right set of panties will also give you the right lift and the right coverage (so you don’t need to fight wedgies the whole day!) Because of this (and a lot of reader’s requests) from time to time, I’ll be showing you what goes on underneath what I wear, especially when my clothes call for “special support.”

This dress isn’t a tricky one because of the conservative cut and fabric, so I was easily able to use fun lacy pieces in yummy colors. Aside from helping you achieve a flawless finish, what you wear under your clothes also plays a role in making you feel confident and beautiful. Imagine wearing this dress with granny panties and a beat up bra versus the ones I’m wearing above. Thanks to Wacoal for the beautiful undies I got! Because of these undergarments, now I can really say I wear my clothes better. Some people might not notice the difference, but I’m sure you will. And as I’ve always said, we should dress for ourselves and no one else. So if pretty lace bras are all you need to give you that extra dose of confidence, then by all means go for it!

Capped off my look with my superhero belt and these comfy Call It Spring platforms that make me seem like I’m six-feet tall! To me at least! That was the main deal that completely turned my kiddie dress around!

What do you think about my look?

Romwe dress, SM Accessories belt (similar here) and circle bracelets, Call It Spring heels, Prada bag (similar here), Giftsahoy black and gold bracelet, Holic white and gold braid bracelet

hype this look on lookbook and chictopia!

I bought a nude lace dress but I have no idea what to do with it to make it look vintage-ish. I need expert help. Hihi. Thank you so much.
