“If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?” I always used to ask my friends that question because I was always fascinated that in other parts of the world, people could just move homes, shift careers, start new lives and all that jazz in a heartbeat! It’s not a very common practice here in the Philippines, most especially in Filipino-Chinese families like mine, so there’s a lot of real wonder in that statement. The furthest move I’ve gone through was my college semester in Paris, and then my Cebu-Manila-Cebu-Manila-Cebu life phase, but now that that’s over and done with, I’m back to where I started and back to asking that same question. “If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?”
Well, as cliche as it may sound, I’ve grown to discover that “home is where the heart is.” We can’t help all those what if’s floating around and clouding our thoughts, but once you actually sit down and try to answer that question, the answer you were looking for may not necessarily be that far away! I think it’s pretty obvious that I love my city, and I’m proud to be a Cebuana! I love the no (although steadily increasing) traffic, the sight of trees at every corner, 30 minute drives to the beach, polite (and often times funny) strangers who look at me while I take photos (and the manong guards to guard me from wandering eyes!). I love being close to my family, and seeing them everyday, spending time with my friends, goofing off and laughing at comments on instagram (har har har), I love being weird with the bestest boyfriend in the world, and being able to talk about absolutely anything without boring ourselves, even though we’ve seen each other almost every day for the last five years. Just a normal girl in a normal world. I love it.
Sometimes we take these little things for granted. It’s nice to actually step outside yourself and take a look at how things are from a distance. I just did, and from up here, I’m really liking what I see.

OOOOkay enough of the sappy shmapy realizations, let’s take a look at my outfit. Top, shorts, heels and accessories, yet something about this look screams sporty! What is it? The high neckline top with it’s sporty mid sleeves paired with pinstripe high waisted denims in a very referee like boldness. I could totally imagine wearing this with high-tops, a baseball cap and a nice backpack! What look woud you prefer?

What do you think about my look?
H&M top, Topshop shorts, SM Accessories necklace and ring, Mango heels, Goody elastic, Mom’s vintage belt
hype this look on lookbook and chictopia!

This isn’t about your look (I really like the casual chic aspect of it), but I think that’s definitely an interesting question to ask someone because everyone has different answers, although what they’d say if that ‘could’ became a reality might change their answers. Right before I entered college, I actually found myself wondering about home a lot (because I went to boarding school in high school and then lived in abroad for a year, I hadn’t lived at “home” for longer than a month at a time.) But then I realized that for me, home isn’t necessarily a matter of where I’m physically livingβ because I carry a little bit of every place I’ve stayed at long-term in me and they were all places where I’ve done some growing. Home is kind of…accepting where you’re living and wanting to enjoy where you’re living at the moment. Haha, I think I’m still learning though. (:
Thanks for that insight Krys! Always enjoy reading your comments!
