Singapore’s Boon Tong Kee and then some

When in Singapore, my absolute favorite thing to do is… eat! Singapore boasts of a strong mix of Indian, Chinese and Malay cuisine, and I always make sure to make my belly happy whenever I visit! This trip, Cams brought us to one of her family favorites-Boon Tong Kee! It was my first time there, and I have to say, I’m impressed! No wonder these small and hard to find places are always jam packed- they serve such good no-nonsense and non-commercialized food!Β

I don’t really remember the exact names of the dishes we had because I was so excited to eat that I dove right in (plus it was all in Chinese!) So let me describe them instead! We had their Fried Tofu, Hainanese Chicken, Cereal Fried Prawns and Steamed Vegetables. Everything was soooo good!

Of course, my second favorite thing to do in this city is SHOP! Singapore has most of the brands I love that I can’t find back home. Plus, the have Tax Refund at the airport! So I take the opportunity to stock up! If you wish to do the same, just make sure you buy extra baggage space!

I spent the day with Mike and JackΒ and made sure to snap a very touristy photo of us before we called it a day. Can you guess where we shot this?

After dinner, we all headed to the Marina Bay area to enjoy the beautiful view. We even caught the last screening of the water show (a series of stories and images flashed onto the water fountain) by chance! I wish there was a nice and clean place to safely stroll through at night here in the Philippines, and enjoy free shows too! Dito ko na feel na talagang first world country ang Singapore! It’s sooo clean and orderly!

More about my trip soon!x
