Dressing with a dress-code is tough for people who love playing with different cuts like me. I love wearing shorts and skirts because I’m petite. Shorter hemlines lengthen the legs and make me appear taller. However, I can’t always wear leg-lengtheing shorts because sometimes situations call for conservative dressing. I get a bunch of requests on how to dress for the office/school keeping in mind the conservative guidelines of work wear, so I thought it would be fun to share with you how I usually make it work. Here’s one way you can still stun your peers on a basic silhouette.

An easy way to try print on print is to grab pieces from the same family (floral on floral, animal on animal, dots on dots etc) and pair them together. The effect is quite stunning, and the closer the prints are together, the more seamless and one-piece like your outfit will look! Plus, because this outfit doesn’t cut the line of my body anywhere, I appear taller!

Simple silver accessories de-clunk your look and keep you looking polished. When I’m wearing bold prints or statement pieces, I try to keep my accessories at a minimal so it doesn’t fight for attention.

Nude/light colored shoes are always a top choice for me, because they make your legs appear longer. Black/dark colored shoes show the eyes where your legs end, while light colored shoes keep your legs long and don’t cut your line.
