Another one of my feeling-student outfits. School was just such a happy place for me, filled with many extremely memorable experiences. I loved going out with my friends, but I also loved hitting the books and learning new things everyday. Plus, you were responsible only to yourself, and that has to be the very best part of being a dependent student! To all my young readers out there, cherish the daily grind and make the most out of your years! Make friends, let the small bickers pass (trust me, they’re not worth it!), study hard, learn what you can, build your foundations, relax. Your school years will be some of the best times of your life.

I’ve always loved the blazer-top-printed shorts combination, because the playfulness of the prints always come as a welcome surprise. I tried to cop the same effect with my look above, except I opted for loose and casual separates instead of the structured alternatives. To keep things coherent, I picked colors out of my shorts and worked them into the rest of my outfit. What do you think?
P.S.
I tried to take a sunset photo and the end result is the 2nd one from the top. OKAY, no judging. Someone teach me how to take a good sunset photo please!
Long Lost Dreamer

I’ve always had so many dreams for myself. When I was a kid, I told everyone that I wanted to be a doctor or a teacher. That was the “respectable dream.” I never admitted that it was also a dream of mine to be a model and to eventually see my face on one of the billboards along the city. I was ashamed to have that “unrealistic” one out in the open, because I was afraid people would laugh at me, or tell me I didn’t have the looks or what it took to get there. I was a very awkward gawky kid with china chop bangs and a straight bob, and admittedly, up ’til I was about 5-6 years old, people always mistook me for a little boy. (That probably explains my overwhelming preference to anything girly.) Well, to make a long story short- I didn’t get to become any of the “respectable” dreams, but I did eventually have a taste of the unrealistic one. Life as a funny way of catching up on you. Just when you think “there’s no way in the world,” a window opens up right in front of you, and you won’t even know it when you’re there. My point is, we should never stop dreaming because in reality, dreams really do come true.

I love vintage looks because they’re always so full of character. None of the pieces I’m wearing are vintage, but I tried to go for a similar effect with what I already had in my closet. There’s just something so mysterious about a girl sitting down in a room, all dressed up. Photos have such a lingering effect. Looking at the series makes me think I was sitting there for hours! The truth, however, will tell you that my sister took these for me just 5 minutes before I left the house on a sunday afternoon. Can you guess where I was headed?

When I received this dress in the mail, I honestly wasn’t too hyped up about it because it had random words in silver studs all over the front. But, I always try to make do because it’s such a shame to see anything go to waste. To resolve this issue, I flipped the dress on backwards, grabbed my bright bold bead collar from Island Girl, tied my hair up in a big bad bun (see my tutorial here) and wore towering color block heels. It’s kitschy, it’s cute and it works! What do you think?
