The Little Sparkly Dress

A few days ago, I attended an early brunch engagement party and had no idea what to wear. These types of ceremonies usually call for a formal gown or cocktail dress, but I didn’t have time to have one made! It took me hours to think of what to wear, until I realized- when all else fails, go for sequins. So while rummaging through my closet, I came upon this beautiful sequined number that I haven’t worn yet from TFNC london, and it was PERFECT! The perfect LSD (Little Sparkly Dress) that had just the right amount of shine for a daytime event!

The dress was a bit big on me, so I cinched my waist with a thin gold belt, and went blousy. I do this all the time for dresses one size up. It’s a one second alteration technique really does the trick!

To keep things classy and garden-wedding-like, I opted to accessorize with simple classic gold pieces. I went for my favorite set of slim gold rings from my mom, a small gold purse, a single pearl enamel bracelet and classy chandelier earrings from WAGW.

And of course, because it was a momentous occasion, I didn’t wanna miss capturing each special moment on camera, but bringing a DSLR to an event is just plain tiring, and it ruins your outfit completely! Good thing I had this super sleek and stylish Canon Ixus camera with me. Minimalist and effortlessly chic- exactly what I needed!

After the party, I didn’t want to put this pretty dress to waste, so I decided to loosen it up a bit by adding a blazer and less dressy shoes. I still stuck to the same simple classy accessories but tied my hair into a low ponytail to keep it casual.

And there you have it! Another way to wear the little sparkly dress! What do you think about my look?

hype this look on lookbook and chictopia!
