How to Make Your Coconut Oil Hair Spray

Making your coconut oil spray is SUPER EASY! You have to follow these simple steps!

1 - Pour Into Spray Bottle.

Pour Into Spray Bottle

Take your COCONUT OIL and pour around 1/3 of a cup OR 1-2 spoonfuls of it into your spray bottle.

You want the coconut oil to be as SOFT and LIQUID as possible because the harder and clumpier it is, the harder it will be to mix and spray out the bottle.

Suppose you do not have fractionated coconut oil instead of solid unrefined coconut oil. In that case, you can soften the coconut by MASHING it up or MELTING it for a FEW SECONDS ONLY.

2 - Add Water.

2 - Add Water

Pour around 1-2 cups of distilled water into the spray bottle. Measurements may differ depending on the size of the bottle.

It would be better to use WARM WATER to help the coconut oil melt and soften.

3 - Add Essential Oil.

Put around three drops of LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL. Lavender oil helps with reducing dandruff and dryness.

4 - SHAKE the spray bottle.

When you spritz and rub some on your hand, the texture should come out nice and smooth.

And there you have it! You can now apply the mixture and get your shiny hair back!

NOTE: Keep the bottled solution in a WARM PLACE to keep the coconut from hardening. Shake the bottle in case hardening occurs.

Avoid getting coconut oil onto your skin since it’s a comedogenic component.

Causes Of Dry Hair

Causes Of Dry Hair

Our hair can be sensitive to many things, so it is important to look for elements that may cause damaged or dry hair.

Environmental elements

If you are in a HOT, DRY ENVIRONMENT, your hair and skin are vulnerable to sun damage. Frequent exposure to the sun causes heat damage and frizz.

Your hair can also get damaged in areas with high pollution and dirt.

Also, if you like to go SWIMMING often, then chlorinated or salty water may also cause damaged hair.

Excessive Use of Haircare Products

If you have TOO MANY product bottles in your bathroom or undergo too many hair treatments, it may be a bad sign.

Using many products will do the OPPOSITE of taking care of your hair.

This includes excessive shampooing, conditioner, dye, ironing, hair spray, or anything that could cause brittle hair and strip hair of its natural hair proteins and hair oils.

On the other hand, lack of hair care can also contribute to damaged hair. This can range from keeping it unwashed for too long or spending too long in harsh environments.

That’s why it is important to find BALANCE in your routine as you don’t want to do too much or too little.

Treatment

Of course, hair damage is MANAGEABLE and PREVENTABLE!

Some ways to maintain proper hair care is by:

  • LIMITING PRODUCT USE – Too many products will cause hair strands to fall out and dry up.
  • Avoid chemically-made products that have mineral oil or parabens. You want your products to be as organic as possible.
  • USE CONDITIONER REGULARLY – Conditioning during every wash will help restore and protect your hair from external elements. Use a comb to spread it evenly.
  • AVOID HEAT – Whether from the sun, ironing, or blow-drying, keep your hair protected from heat to prevent any frizz and heat damage. Stay in shaded areas or wear a cap when going out.
